Georgia football's offense had their fair share of issues this past season. But after a few short weeks, it appears the UGA offense will once again be a strength for the Bulldogs next season.
Georgia's wide receiver room has really come together after Kirby Smart earned commitments from USC transfer Zachariah Branch and Texas A&M transfer Noah Thomas. Both players will likely be starters next season and be a massive upgrade from what Georgia had last season.
The Bulldogs are also going to be very strong at running back next year as well. Star running back Trevor Etienne already announced that he will be back next season to form an elite duo with Nate Frazier. But fast forward to Thursday night and another Georgia running back has announced that he too will be returning for one more season.
Georgia RB Cash Jones is back
Georgia running back Cash Jones announced on Thursday that he is returning to Georgia for one more season. This is massive news because Jones brings a skillset that neither Etienne nor Frazier have.
Both Etienne and Frazier are capable players in the passing game, but that is where Jones thrives. This past season Jones recorded just 14 carries for 27 yards and a touchdown, but in the passing game he tallied 24 receptions for 275 yards and an additional four touchdowns. A lot of this damage was also done on third downs where he thrived towards the end of the season.
Etienne will undoubtedly be the starter next season with Frazier getting a bulk of the snaps behind him, but the Georgia offense will still have a massive role for Jones. And based on how well Jones did this past season, he will once again be a player that will thrive for UGA and bring a lot of versatility to a stacked backfield.
