Can Georgia repeat as SEC Champions this season? That is the biggest goal for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs this year as they would love nothing more than to continue their recent stretch of dominance over the conference.

Now that the season is one week away, it is very interesting to see what Vegas has to say when it comes to Georgia's SEC Championship odds. And a quick look at FanDuel Sportsbook shows that Georgia's odds to win the SEC have drastically changed since the beginning of the offseason.

Georgia's odds to win the SEC have greatly improved this offseason

Georgia had the second best odds to win the SEC back in mid-February. According to FanDuel, Georgia had +390 odds to repeat as SEC Champions six months ago. Texas was the only team with better odds than UGA at the time as the Longhorns sat at +210 to win the conference.

That is quite a big gap between No. 1 and No. 2, but that gap has significantly closed over the last six months. Looking at FanDuel as of Aug. 22, Georgia's odds have improved all the way to +300. Texas on the other hand has seen their odds fall to +270, meaning FanDuel thinks Texas and Georgia essentially have the same odds to win the SEC this season.

At the end of the day, these betting odds really don't mean all that much. Sure it is nice to see Vegas give Georgia better odds to win the SEC as the season is about to begin, but it really doesn't matter all that much what they have to say.

Everyone knows Georgia has a great chance to win the conference, and they will be given every chance to do so throughout the season as they play Texas and Alabama throughout the year. So UGA has a chance to prove Vegas right, and that is exactly what Georgia intends on doing.
