As the calendar is about to turn from May to June college football fans are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. June means that football season isn't that far way, and for Georgia their shot to win their third SEC Championship in a row will begin very soon.

Georgia will open their season with two home non-conference games against Tennessee State and Western Kentucky. Both games are as close to guaranteed victories as possible, but lurking just one week later is Georgia's SEC opener on the road at Arkansas.

The first SEC game of the season is always one of the most exciting, but the excitement for this matchup just dropped significantly as the kickoff time was confirmed for 12:00 pm EST.

Georgia vs Arkansas kickoff confirmed for a time nobody asked for

Noon games in the SEC are the absolute worst. Night games however are as good as it gets. Georgia however will be happy to find out that they don't have to play their first road game of the season at night because that is when stadiums are at their loudest.

The best-case scenario for a road game then is a mid-afternoon start, that way Georgia fans can enjoy the build up to the game and not have to worry about a wild atmosphere under the lights. Georgia however will not get that luxury as they will kickoff against Arkansas in week three at Noon.

To make matters worse though, Arkansas is in the central timezone. This means the local start time will be 11:00 am CST which could be problematic because no one is used to playing a game that early.

The good news for Georgia though is that their opponent is Arkansas who finished dead last in the SEC last year. So while this game will be a step up in competition from their first two matchups, this by all accounts should be their easiest SEC game of the season.

Georgia's first two home games have brutal kickoff times as well

Speaking of Georgia's first two games of the season, they also received brutal start times as well. Georgia's first game of the year against Tennessee State was confirmed for 3:00 pm EST while their week two contest against Western Kentucky is scheduled for a 12:45 pm EST start.

Home games are at their best in Sanford Stadium when they are at night. Unfortunately Georgia will have to wait well into the season to experience their first night game, but these two start times are horrific for another reason.

Does anyone know how hot it is in Athens at the beginning of September? That's right, extremely Temperatures are at their highest during the afternoon as well, so fans and players alike may have to deal with some extreme heat during these two games.

Overall though it does make sense why TV networks didn't give Georgia any night games to start the season. These three games should all be easy victories, so the networks probably wanted to save their night slots for more competitive matchups.

Georgia however better get some night games once their schedule ramps up beginning in weeks four and five when Oklahoma and Vanderbilt come to Athens in back-to-back weeks.
