The first injury report ahead of Georgia's SEC Championship matchup with Alabama was released on Wednesday, and the one player the Bulldogs were hoping would be able to play was unfortunately ruled out. Starting center Drew Bobo suffered an injury against Georgia Tech last week and was unable to return to the game. He was even seen on the sideline in a boot and using crutches which is never a good sign.

The hope was that they were just being cautious and he would be able to play against Alabama, but Bobo was already ruled out on Wednesday's official injury report.

Drew Bobo injury update: Georgia starting center ruled out vs Alabama

Georgia has dealt with a lot of injuries to their offensive line this season, but they have been able to overcome them all and still finish with an 11-1 record. The Bulldogs howver have not had to play without Bobo this year until he was injured against Georgia Tech, and Georgia's offense immediately struggled once he left the game.

Georgia was dominant in the run game against the Yellow Jackets with Bobo, but the second he left the game they no longer could find any momentum on the ground. And their issues in the passing game continued after Bobo left the game as well.

Georgia thankfully was able to survive Georgia Tech's upset bid, but Alabama presents an even greater challenge. And looking beyond Alabama to the College Football Playoff is even scarier because there is a chance Bobo will be out for the rest of the season.

Thankfully Georgia will be in the playoff whether they beat Alabama or not, so this will be a good opportunity for them to figure out how to operate without Bobo. But Georgia would love nothing more than to beat Alabama, but doing so without Bobo is going to be extremely difficult.
