Georgia football had one big hole to fill in their 2026 recruiting class. After losing one of their top wide receiver commits right before signing day, Kirby Smart and his staff had to find someone to replace him.

Up to this point it wasn't clear who Georgia was targeting to replace their lost recruit, but three-star wide receiver Dallas Dickerson announced his commitment to UGA seemingly out of nowhere on Saturday. But to make this commitment even better, Georgia shoved Florida in a locker to do it.

Georgia adds elite in-state WR to 2026 recruiting class

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Dickerson is the No. 575 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 79 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 63 player from the state of Georgia.

Dickerson was originally committed to Kentucky, a decision he made on June 24. He then went as far as to sign with the Wildcats on Dec. 3. But Dickerson is having second thoughts and was able to get out of his letter of intent to Kentucky, and that is when Georgia swooped in and earned his commitment.

Florida was another team who was planning on hosting Dickerson after he decommitted from Kentucky. In fact, he was scheduled to head to Florida after his visit to Georgia, but he enjoyed his time at Georgia so much that he cancelled his visit with the Gators to commit to UGA.

Dickerson isn't a player who should be expected to make much of an impact next season, but that doesn't mean he is a bad player. He has elite speed and is capable of taking the top off a defense, so after a little bit of time to develop in Athens he will be someone that makes a lot of big plays for Georgia's offense.
