The Transfer Portal is officially open and there are already hundreds of players in the portal searching for a new school. A handful of Georgia Bulldogs have already entered the portal, but Kirby Smart and his staff have begun searching for some new players as well.
One of the most sought after recruits in the portal is Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman. Wide receiver is a position that Georgia will need to address in the portal this offseason, so he seems like an obvious player to target. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Georgia is going after him, but they are targeting a different Auburn wide receiver.
Former Auburn WR Perry Thompson says a long list of schools are showing interest.

He said Baylor is really coming after him hard. Georgia and Ole Miss are two more schools he mentioned.

Georgia trending for Auburn transfer WR
Georgia fans probably wish they were in the running for Coleman, but they are going to have to settle for his teammate Perry Thompson. Thompson just wrapped up his second season at Auburn after coming to the Tigers as a four-star recruit out of high school. He didn't find much success in 2024, but this past season he tallied 17 receptions and 154 yards.
Thompson was the No. 8 receiver in the 2024 recruiting class, so it's clear that he has a lot of potential. He unfortunately hasn't been able to reach his potential quite yet, but that has more to do with the abysmal offense Auburn has had and the stellar receivers above him on their depth chart.
Georgia will be an attractive landing spot for him since they are expected to lose a lot of production this offseason. The Bulldogs also showed that transfers can come in and immediately find a lot of success like Zachariah Branch did this year.
Baylor and Ole Miss are two other schools that he is showing interest in as well. He has not scheduled a visit yet, but Georgia should expect to have a great chance at landing him if they get a visit on the books.
