Georgia WR commit skyrockets up recruiting rankings, earns fifth star
Recruiting is at the front of everyone's mind as the early signing period is approaching in the next couple of weeks. Georgia football and Kirby Smart have a lot of work to do and not much time left to make their 2025 recruiting class as strong as possible.
And while Georgia's focus is on recruiting new players and trying to flip some from other schools, they also need to continue recruiting the players already committed to their recruiting class. And that includes one wide receiver specifically who just earned his fifth star on On3.
Wide Receiver Talyn Taylor skyrockets up On3 rankings
Talyn Taylor is an elite wide receiver who has been committed to Georgia since June of this year. Taylor has always been one of Georgia's highest ranked recruits, but that got taken to the next level earlier this week.
On3 recently updated their recruiting rankings, and Taylor was one of the biggest risers in the entire country. He moved from No. 38 all the way up to No. 27 in the country. This move, which makes him the No. 3 overall receiver and top player from Illinois, earned Taylor his coveted fifth star.
This is very significant because Georgia has not had a five-star receiver since 2019. Knowing how good Georgia's offense has been for years now without a five-star receiver makes you wonder how much better they can be with a talent like Taylor on the team.
Taylor is having an electric senior season in high school where he has recorded 65 catches for 1,302 yards and 22 touchdowns.
As mentioned, it is very important for Smart to continue recruiting the players already committed to Georgia's recruiting class, especially Taylor. There is no indication that he is even interested in other schools, so in a few shorts weeks Taylor should put pen to paper and officially sign with the Georgia football.
