Georgia football fans are growing increasingly worried that their wide receiver room is struggling with drops again this season. Bulldogs' wide receiver Sacovie White-Helton however isn't worried about what they think.

One of the most talked about reports that came out after Georgia's first fall scrimmage last weekend was that Georgia's receivers and tight ends dropped a lot of passes. This is bringing up some PTSD among the fan base after Georgia led the FBS in drops in 2024, but White-Helton doesn't care what anyone else thinks right now.

“We decide to keep our heads down and keep working, and we believe that hard work pays off,” Sacovie White-Helton said. “We’re focused on one goal, and that’s getting to a national championship… We all understand the role that we need to have for this team to be where we need to be in January, and we’re not going to get there by listening to anybody else.”

Sacovie White-Helton made it abundantly clear that he and the rest of his teammates don't care what anyone else thinks right now. He knows that they dropped a lot of passes during their scrimmage, but he also knows that one scrimmage doesn't define who they are as a group.

The over-the-top complaints about drops in a fall scrimmage were never fair to any receiver or tight end on Georgia's roster. That doesn't mean there isn't a reason to be a little concerned, but offenses typically take longer to gel during fall camp than defenses do. In time the offense should play much better, and hopefully when they take the field for the first time during the regular season they prove that they aren't having issues catching the ball at all.

Some Georgia fans may choose to wait until they see solid play for themselves before they stop worrying, but Kirby Smart seemed confident in his offense during his press conference on Wednesday.

Kirby Smart's concern for Georgia's offense isn't as high as fans might assume

On Wednesday Kirby Smart spoke very highly of quarterback Gunner Stockton. He praised his quarterback for improving in a lot of key areas so far in fall camp, most notably with his deep ball.

If Smart is praising Stockton for showing improvement with his passing then it's safe to assume that Georgia's receivers and tight ends are doing well too. If they were constantly dropping passes then it would be hard for Smart to speak highly of anyone involved in the passing attack, even Gunner Stockton.

If Smart isn't concerned at this point then fans probably shouldn't be either. He is with his team every day and has seen how they are playing on the field, so if he believes in Stockton and Georgia's pass catchers then everyone else should try to as well.
