At the end of last week Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton got to meet President Donald Trump. He was one of the few people to welcome the President to the Peach State on Thursday as he was spotted shaking his hand on the runway.
Stockton and President Trump however ended up spending most of that day together.
President Trump spoke for a little bit and was featured Josh Pate's podcast as well, and during those appearances he spoke about how much he loves Stockton. In fact, President Trump might be planning a visit Georgia for a game later this fall just to watch Stockton play.
"I want to go to any game [Gunner Stockton plays in]. I'm going to be watching him very closely this year. [Gunner's] going to have a good year."

President Trump continues discussing his Gunner Stockton fandom
This in all likelihood was just a nice gesture from President Trump to Stockton. It is very unlikely that he will attend a Georgia game this fall unless he makes an appearance at the National Championship game and UGA makes it there. However, it is still really cool to hear that the current President of the United States is this invested in Stockton and Georgia football.
Regardless of if he comes to Athens or not, he will be watching Stockton this fall to see how he plays. And there is a great chance he will be very pleased with his season this fall. Stockton is one of the top players in all of college football on a team that is more than capable of winning a National Championship, so when that is the case it's impossible to not pay attention.
Only time will tell if Stockton and Georgia accomplish their goals this year, but it's clear that they have the President on their side cheering them on.
