Georgia football has been disrespected a lot this season. Everyone was picking Texas to beat the Bulldogs before both games this season and the College Football Playoff committee was under ranking Georgia all season long.
But the best part of the disrespect Georgia received was that they proved everyone wrong at every turn. Georgia beat Texas in both games, including in the SEC Championship game, which forced the CFP committee to grant them a top four seed and first round bye as a conference champion.
So one would think that after the incredible season Georgia has had so far that the disrespect would finally come to an end. And so far the disrespect about the team itself has. But there is a new form of disrespect that is being dished out to Gunner Stockton.
It’s time to put some respect on QB1’s name… it’s Gunner not Gunnar pic.twitter.com/vtDtVqOpiK

People can't stop spelling Gunner Stockton's name wrong
A lot of people are disrespecting Georgia and Stockton because they don't think the Bulldogs stand a chance at winning with him under center in place of an injured Carson Beck. But those opinions at least seem somewhat valid because he is yet to start a game in his college career.
But the thing that is especially disrespectful is that people keep spelling his name wrong.
The post above highlights the SEC Network discussing Stockton during a show, and they spelled his name "Gunnar" instead of Gunner. It's very shocking to see an actual compary and TV network spell a players name wrong, especially a QBs name, but the SEC Network isn't alone.
Alomst every other post on social media that talks about Stockton has his name spelled wrong. Even a large amount of Georgia fans keep spelling his name wrong. Spelling his name wrong when he was initially thrust into the spotlight in the SEC Championship game makes sense because no one really knew who he was outside of UGA, but it's been three weeks since that game, and Stockton's been one of the biggest stories in all of college football since Beck was ruled out of the CFP.
So it's time for everyone to start spelling his name correctly, because it really doesn't get more disrespectful than that.
