Gunner Stockton reacts to Paul Finbaum's criticism in the best way possible

Gunner Stockton is a silent assassin. He's never going to be the loudest guy in the locker room, and he definitely won't be vocal in front of the media off the field, but that is perfectly okay with Georgia. Stockton more or less keeps to himself and lets his play do the talking, and his play has been on fire recently.

Stockton is coming of a five touchdown performance against Ole Miss which has put him in the middle of the Heisman Trophy conversation. This impressive showing against the Rebels has finally forced analysts across the country to voice how wrong they were about him this offseason, and that includes ESPN's Paul Finebaum.

Finebaum was one of Stockton's loudest critiques this offseason to the point where Kirby Smart had to call him out. Thankfully Finebaum has gone back on what he said and has begun to give Stockton his flowers, but Stockton hasn't forgotten what he said. But instead of clapping back at Finebaum, Stockton gave the best response that he possible could have given.

Stockton very easily could have called Finebaum out and bragged about how well he's been playing this season. But that isn't what he did. Instead Stockton chose to say that all he cares about are the opionions of his coaches and teammates, and if he's making them happy then he is happy.

Stockton essentially said that nothing Finebaum, or anyone outside of Athens, says matters to him. So whether Finebaum is bashing him or praising him, Stockton does not care.

This is the perfect response for a quarterback to give because it shows they are solely focused on the task at hand. All Stockton wants is to win, he doesn't care what anyone thinks of his play as long as Georgia keeps winning. That is the sign of a true leader and why the entire team has stated time and time again how much they love playing for Stockton.
