Gunner Stockton has been the talk of the town all of season at Georgia. The Bulldogs' season depends on his development this offseason as an improved Stockton is good enough to lead Georgia to a National Championship this season.

David Pollack is one of the many individuals who have commented about Stockton's need for improvement this offseason, but he never sounded too confident he could take the steps he needs to. But all it took was one scrimmage during G-Day for Stockton to prove Pollack wrong.

“My biggest thing was my footwork and pocket presence, not creating my own pressure," Stockton said via ugawire.usatoday.com. "I thought I got a little better at that after the spring.”

No one has ever questioned Stockton as a runner, but everyone has wondered if he could be good enough as a passer. Stockton specifically needs to improve with pushing the ball down the field as Georgia missed a lot of opportunities for big gains last season.

Stockton wasn't given too many opportunities to play at G-Day, but when he did he already showed improvements with pushing the ball down the field. He also looked more comfortable in the pocket with better footwork, but that is easy to do when you know the defense isn't allowed to tackle you.

Stockton finished G-Day completing seven of 12 passes for 76 yards. His biggest play of the day though was when he found tight end Jaden Reddell down the field for his one touchdown pass of the day.

Stockton still has a lot to prove to show that he is a much improved passer, but he proved at G-Day that he has taken a step in the right direction. That certainly won't shut any of the naysayers up yet, but he is proving that people like Pollack may not know what they are talking about.
