Gunner Stockton has shown time and time again how different he is. His play on the field is pretty standard of an elite quarterback, but who he is off the field couldn't be more unique.
And that includes where he finds motivation each and every day to be the best quarterback for Georgia football.
“I just think of always, ‘Hey, I wanna make my family proud in the way I handle myself and, two, I’m a reflection of the University of Georgia,” Stockton said via dawgnation.com. “I don’t wanna let Georgia down and I just wanna make everybody proud.”

The first way that Stockton finds motivation is through his family. All he wants to do is make them proud both in the way he plays on the field and how he carries himself off the field. This motivation however extends much further than that as he holds himself to that same standard with how his coaches, teammates and fans view him as well.
Most players want to make their families proud, but they may not care that much about what fans think of them. But that is where Stockton is different because he wants everyone involved with Georgia to be proud of the player and person he is.
Stockton is also being motivated in other ways, mainly from the expectations being placed on him by Kirby Smart. And Smart did not hold back during his first press conference this spring.
But his greatest motivation is wanting everyone to respect the way he plays football and how he carries himself, and that is what makes him such a great player and person. Winning on the field will still be the most important thing, but the person Stockton is will make him a fan favorite for years to come.
