Nate Frazier entered the 2026 season with hopes of being a superstar and one of the best running backs in the country. When healthy he has lived up to those expectations, but he has missed half of the season due to injury.

Frazier suffered an injury in Georgia's third game of the season at Arkansas. He didn't play the following week against Oklahoma before getting two carries against Vanderbilt and not playing against Alabama last week. Now his status for Saturday's game against Auburn is still up in the air even though he hasn't been on the injury report at all this week.

Nate Frazier is not on Georgia's injury report

Typically when a player hasn't been on the injury report all week that means they are a lock to play. That however isn't the case with Frazier based on how he was handled last week against Alabama.

Frazier was not on any of Georgia's weekly injury reports leading into the Alabama game. This led fans to believe that he was finally back from injury and would start for UGA in Tuscaloosa, but then he was ruled out at the last second after going through warmups.

Fast forward to this week and Frazier once again has not been on Georgia's injury report all week. That's a good sign because it at minimum implies that he is not seriously injured, but it's unclear if he will play against Auburn until we actually see him step on the field.

What Georgia will do if Nate Frazier doesn't play

Georgia's depth will be challenged for the second week in a row if Frazier doesn't play against Auburn because fellow running back Chauncey Bowens has been ruled out. The good news is that Georgia's running back room thrived last week against Alabama without Frazier or Bowens.

Dwight Phillips led the way against the Tide by racking up 120 yards on 17 carries. Bo Walker also had a big game with 69 yards on 10 carries. These two will be heavily featured again if Frazier isn't able to play, and based on how they did against Alabama that wouldn't be too concerning.

The one fear Georgia would have though is if Phillips or Walker get injured during the game. If Frazier doesn't play and one of them goes down with an injury then Georgia will be in serious trouble. They won't have the depth needed anymore to have a solid run game, so Gunner Stockton would be relied upon far more in the pass game than Georgia would like.

Frazier being healthy enough to play solves all of these problems though. This would give Georgia three running backs who have proven themselves this season and a little breathing room in case another injury does occur to their running back room.

Georgia fans won't know if Frazier is playing until he actually steps on the field, but as of now there is a chance he will see the field against Auburn.

Kickoff between Auburn and Georgia is scheduled for 3:30 pm EST on Oct. 17.
