Is the bye week coming at a bad time for Georgia football?

I am afraid Gerogia is going to lose all their momentum after their bye week.

This year of college football is unlike any other because teams have two bye weeks instead of one like we are used to. That is where Georgia football finds themselves after their 30-15 upset win over No. 1 Texas.

Usually the bye week is a welcomed site even if that means we have a week where we don't get to watch Georgia play football. This is because it is a great time for the team to get extra rest while also healing up and getting more guys healthy and ready to play.

But is Georgia's bye week this week coming at a bad time?

I think they bye week could do more bad than good for Georgia

Yes this week off will still be good for Georgia when it comes to healing up from their injuries. The best example is offensive lineman Tate Ratledge who has been out for nearly a month now, but is very close to a return according to Kirby Smart. This extra week off should give him enough time to get back to 100 percent health before Georgia's next game against Florida in two weeks.

Even if that is the case, I stil think the bye week is coming at a bad time for Georgia.

It's no secret that Georgia's momentum is at an all time high right now after beating the No. 1 ranked team on the road. So my fear is that momentum will die out during the bye week.

I want Georgia to be able to ride the wave from their win ove Texas for as long as possible, especially because they have two very tough opponents coming up in Ole Miss and Tennessee. So while the bye week is good for many other reasons, I wish it wasn't happening right now because it could kill all the momentum Georgia now has after their big win.

Maybe I'm thinking into this too much (I likely am), but we can't deny that this is a possibility. Georgia lost to Alabama after their first bye week and looked awful to start that game, which you don't always expect after a bye. So hopefully the team learned their lesson and they don't start sluggish once again when they take on Florida in two weeks.
