Georgia football just had one of the best weeks possible on the recruiting trail. Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis announced his commitment to Georgia for a second time, which gives UGA the No. 1 QB in the 2026 class.
While it may seem unlikely for Georgia to be able to one up that commitment, the Bulldogs actually have a chance to do just that next week on May 13. This is when five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell plans to announce his commitment, and Georgia is one of his finalists along with Oregon, Miami (FL) and Ohio State.
It's still unclear who Cantwell is going to commit to, but On3 does favor the Bulldogs in his recruitment right now. But a recent quote from Cantwell shows that he is already starting to talk like a Georgia commit.
“I could help them kickstart the best class in the country for this year."

Searels was in to see him earlier this week and the message was, “I could help them kickstart the best class in the country for this year,” Cantwell said.

Jackson Cantwell is giving off Georgia commit energy
While this doesn't indicate that Cantwell will be committing to Georgia on May 13, it does make it seem like he is leaning that way. Why else would he be thinking about helping Georgia earn the No. 1 class in the country?
There are a few other reasons why Georgia fans should be confident heading into his commitment, with the biggest reason being his upcoming visit to Athens on May 10. This visit was scheduled last second when he delayed his commitment by two weeks, so that is about as good of a sign as possible that Cantwell loves Georgia.
On top of that, Curtis, who just committed to Georgia on Monday, will also be in attendance this weekend alongside Cantwell to help recruit him to Georgia.
UGA fans will only have to wait a few more days to see if Cantwell is the Bulldogs next five-star addition, but as his commitment date inches closer it is seeming more and more likely that he will be a Bulldog in a few days.
