Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis announced his commitment to Georgia Monday evening, which gives UGA the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. But no team will be able to accomplish the goals Georgia has with a QB alone, so it is important for Kirby Smart and his staff to continue their pursuit of all their top targets.

However, Georgia’s coaching staff aren’t the only ones who can help land recruits as Georgia’s current commits will be able to assist as well. That is something Curtis shared he is going to start doing now that he has made his commitment official, and it appears his first target is none other than the No. 1 player in the country.

Jared Curtis is going after Jackson Cantwell

If landing Curtis wasn’t exciting enough, Georgia could be on the verge of landing another player just as talented. That recruit is Jackson Cantwell, who is a five-star offensive tackle and the No. 1 overall player in the country.

Cantwell is scheduled to announce his commitment on May 13, and he will be taking one final visit to Athens on May 10. And it sounds like Cantwell won’t be alone on that visit as Curtis plans to join him in Athens to help recruit him to join him at Georgia.

Cantwell saw this statement from Curtis on social media Monday night, and it appears he is very interested in Curtis joining him.

Curtis has shared in the past that he has spoken with Cantwell a few times, but they have never met in person. So this will be a great opportunity not only for the two to meet, but for Curtis to do everything he can to get Cantwell to join him at Georgia.

Hopefully Cantwell is ready to listen to Curtis, because the only thing better than landing the No. 1 quarterback is landing the No. 1 offensive tackle to pair with him.
