There aren't many players in the NFL who can say they are having a better season than former Georgia football running back James Cook. The Buffalo Bills superstar already was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for the month of September, but he has not slowed down throughout October.

Cook has been dominant all season long, but his performance against Carolina on Sunday may have just been the best game of his season.

James Cook has legacy building performance vs Carolina

The Buffalo Bills took down the Carolina Panthers on Sunday 40-9. Usually it is quarterback Josh Allen that leads the Bills to blowout victories like this, but on this day it was Cook who did all the damage for Buffalo.

Cook recorded 19 carries on Sunday and exploded for a whopping 216 yards and two touchdowns.

Cook didn't wait long to get his day started as he scored a 64-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter to give the Bills a 13-3 lead.

Cook didn't stop there as he exploded for a 26-yard run later in the third quarter to extend the Bills lead to 30.

This victory gives Cook and the Bills a 5-2 record and in a tie for first place in the AFC East standings with the New England Patriots. New England does have a victory over Buffalo already this season so they technically have the tiebreaker, but the Bills are right where they want to be and are positioned to comfortably make the playoffs later this season.

The Bills have been patiently waiting for their turn to make a run at the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs have continuously gotten in their way, but the Chiefs have taken a step back this season which could allow the Bills to finally make it to the Super Bowl.

And if they do end up winning it all, Cook will deserve as much credit as anyone else in their organization.
