Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis will be visiting Georgia this weekend on his official visit. Since Curtis is already committed to UGA, he will not require as much attention from the coaching staff during his time on campus. This means he will have a lot more time to interact with the other recruits visiting Georgia, which will be huge for one recruit in particular.
Four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford will also be in Athens this weekend as well on his official visit. Spafford has been committed to Georgia since last year, but his commitment is not 100 percent set in stone like Georgia's other commits.
Spafford continues to take visits to other programs which includes the Miami Hurricanes who appear to be in the best position to flip him from the Bulldogs. So even though Spafford is committed to Georgia, it is going to take a lot of effort to ensure he doesn't change his mind and head to another program.
While keeping Spafford in Georgia's recruiting class is ultimately up to Kirby Smart and his staff, Curtis can play a big role in that as well.
Jared Curtis needs to help keep Spafford in Georgia's recruiting class
The connection with a quarterback is the most important relationship for every wide receiver. Without a solid QB throwing them the ball, a wide receiver stands no chance during the course of a game. So it would be wise for wide receivers to try and play with the best QB possible that they have a good relationship with.
There isn't a quarterback better in the 2026 class than Curtis as he is the No. 1 QB in the country. This should be a very attractive thing for Spafford that should help keep him in Georgia's class, but if Curtis can get in his ear and start forming a good relationship with him then that will take things to another level.
So Curtis could be the thing that ultimately keeps Spafford a part of Georgia's recruiting class, and their interactions this weekend could be the thing Spafford needs to shut his recruitment down.
