College football fans have to rely on the media if they ever want to know what is happening in a recruitment. Thankfully recruitments are so public nowadays that everyone knows what is taking place in pretty much every recruitment.
That however was not the case with five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, who kept the details about his recruitment hidden even from his family until the final few hours of his recruitment.
Curtis's recruitment came down to Georgia and Oregon, with both teams having a great chance to land the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. Since it was such a close recruitment, that made fans even more hungry for intel, but that intel unfortunately never came out.
But at the end of the day, Curtis committed to Georgia which is the only thing that truly matters to UGA fans. But immediately after Curtis picked the Bulldogs, he shared how he pulled a funny prank on Kirby Smart hours before he announced his commitment.

Jared Curtis pulls a fast one on Kirby Smart
In the above post, Curtis discussed the moment he called Smart to tell him that he was going to be committing to Georgia. This call happened on Sunday, but the phone call did not go how anyone expected.
Curtis explained that he tried to prank Smart by making it seem like he was informing him that he was choosing Oregon instead. According to Curtis, that prank didn't last more than a couple seconds because he was that excited to share with Smart that he was picking Georgia, but it is quite hilarious to imagine Curtis doing this to Smart.
This likely will be the last prank that Curtis will ever pull on Smart because Smart doesn't seem like the type of guy who wants to deal with that, but Curtis chose the perfect time to do this because no coach will be mad while finding out they are about to land the No. 1 quarterback in the country.
