Nothing gets a football team more fired up than seeing their quarterback unleash a massive hit while running the ball. This play doesn’t happen too often, but it’s the quickest way to get everyone fired up for the rest of the game.

Georgia football fans would likely prefer to not see their quarterbacks make a big hit too often, but that is exactly what five-star commit Jared Curtis did during the first game of his high school season on Friday.

Jared Curtis has all the tools of an elite quarterback

Not only did Curtis fire his team up with this big hit on Friday, but he also led his team to a dominant 56-28 victory. Curtis was nearly perfect on the night as he completed 14 of 16 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran the ball six times as well for 44 yards and one more touchdown.

Every Georgia fan already knew that Curtis was a special player. But this consensus was gathered just from his impressive recruiting ranking. This game however was the first chance that Georgia fans got to see Curtis take the field as a UGA commit, and he did not disappoint.

Now the countdown officially begins for Curtis's arrival in Athens. It is unlikely that he will be a starter during his first season at Georgia simply because Gunner Stockton will likely still be the man in charge of the offense. But Curtis will be able to sit back and learn from Stockton for one season before he officially takes over during the 2027 season.

One thing is certain though, Kirby Smart will not just hand Curtis the starting job at any point in his career. Curtis will have to earn it just like everyone else at Georgia. But if he continues to play as well as he did Friday night then it is just a matter of time until he is named Georgia's starting QB.
