How Georgia Bulldogs fans feel about wide receiver George Pickens is how Dallas Cowboys fans are starting to feel about him. While Pittsburgh Steelers fans may feel a certain way about the talented, but mercurial wide receiver, keep in mind that fans of that team as forever stuck in the midst of Mike Tomlin Stockholm Syndrome. As Pickens begins to flourish in Dallas, UGA fans are smiling big time.
Dallas improved to 5-5-1 on the season by way of a 17-point outburst in the second half to stun the arch rival Philadelphia Eagles, 24-21. Pickens had a game-high nine catches for 146 yards and a touchdown in Dallas' huge come-from-behind victory over the Eagles. Although Pickens has always been capable of this, it is so nice to see him get the absolute maximum out of his impressive talent.
Cowboys outspoken owner Jerry Jones had the nicest things to say about the receiver afterwards.
"George has been such an integral part of our story. And he has his story. To a degree, that's our story. I'm so proud for him. Everybody on this team is. He certainly has been absolutely the difference, as we have played over the last two weeks ... It's something when you've got 88 and Pickens."
These are the type of moments where you can fully understand why everyone wants to play for him.

Pickens has always been capable of this, but he needed to go to the perfect situation in the NFL.
Why it is so easy to cheer for George Pickens on the Dallas Cowboys
For as great of a football program as Georgia has been over the years, there are only three wide receivers who starred from the Dawgs from 2008 to 2023 who were truly different. A.J. Green was otherworldy starring for Mark Richt. Ladd McConkey got the most out of his talent playing for Kirby Smart. Pickens was situated in between the two, one of the guys whose talent was so undeniable.
One of the best things about this season for the Cowboys is two guys with Georgia ties in Pickens and head coach Brian Schottenheimer are out here proving everyone wrong. Pickens is not a draft bust, just like Schottenheimer is not going to be a one-and-done head coach. Yes, Dallas needs to get better defensively, but they have become one of the most fun offenses to watch in the league.
For now, everyone associated with the Cowboys is starting to learn what Dawg Nation knows about Pickens. While he will occasionally touch the third rail for reasons we can only describe as Pickens, the guy plays so hard for people who genuinely care about him. When the guy is totally locked in, he can play like a top-10 receiver in the game. Yes, it does help having CeeDee Lamb in the offense, too.
As the Steelers start to circle the drain, they have to wonder if Pickens really was their big problem...
