Joel Klatt finally puts some respect on Georgia’s name

It is very hard to get a good read on the Georgia football team this year. The Bulldogs have one of the best wins in the country when they destroyed Clemson week one 34-3. However, they also have some games that make you second guess how good they really are. A 13-12 win against Kentucky is not what we wanted to see. Losing to an Alabama team that lost to Vanderbilt one week later wasn't ideal either.

All of these up and down results give fans and the media a wide range where they could realistically rank Kirby Smart’s squad.

We already saw ESPN's Dan Mullen disrespect the Bulldogs with his latest rankings, but now we have Fox Sports' Joel Klatt who is the opposite and very high on Georgia.

Finally, a list I can get behind. Don't get me wrong, I myself wouldn't even list Georgia at No. 1 in the country right now. Having the Bulldogs at No. 11 like Mullen however is something nobody should agree with.

The two teams in front of Georgia on Klatt's list nobody in their right mind should argue with. Both Texas and Ohio State are undefeated and have looked the part as one of the best teams in the country so far. Do I think Georgia can beat them? Absolutely, and they will get their chance against Texas next week. But for the time being the Bulldogs righfully deserve to be behind them.

So even though Georgia's loss against Alabama looks a lot worse after the Tide lost to Vanderbilt, I don't think people should hold that against them. Georgia is still one of the best teams in the country and I think everyone, including Mullen, will agree by the time this season ends.

But for the time being we are going to have to deal with the college football world having differing views on this Georgia team. But that will make it that much sweeter when Georgia finishes the season strong like I predict.
