Since their loss to Alabama in September, the Georgia Bulldogs have been an unstoppable machine. The Bulldogs have picked up speed and are now regarded again as a top National Championship contender. In fact, they have played well enough that it made Joel Klatt move them ahead of undefeated Texas A&M in his week 13 college football rankings.
Though they hold no impact on the College Football Playoffs, these rankings truly give testimony as to how scary Georgia really is. Klatt says they are a top three team in the country, and rightfully so.
Joel Klatt swaps Georgia with undefeated Texas A&M
In Klatt's Top 15 CFB Rankings, Klatt had No. 1 still with Ohio State and No. 2 with Indiana. However, the analyst shook things up and put Georgia ahead of the undefeated Aggies at No. 3. This does not come without reason, and fans should take note of it.
Georgia has had a much more impressive resume than Texas A&M and have won their games more convincingly as of late. Texas A&M has one win against a top 15 team (No. 8 Notre Dame). Georgia however has wins over No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 10 Texas, and No. 15 Tennessee on the season.
Georgia is also coming off of an impressive win against Texas in Athens. Georgia won that game by 25 points and the defense looked phenomenal. The Aggies are coming off a game where they had to have the greatest comeback in program history to win. The Aggies fell behind an unranked South Carolina in the first half, and by four touchdowns. Georgia has not had a defecit like that at all this season, despite a lot of heroic comebacks by the Dawgs themselves. The only loss Georgia has this season was by three points, and they had several opportunities to win that game.
The fact is that Georgia is one of the hottest teams in college football right now. Even though Texas A&M is hot, they have yet to face a true test since September. Georgia has had nothing but tests, and passed nearly all of them. Klatt's rankings are justified, and the college football world should take notice of what the Bulldogs have to offer.
