Jordan Davis is a legend in Athens. He played a huge role in Georgia winning their first National Championship under Kirby Smart, and for that reason he is someone who will always be celebreated by UGA fans.
Davis' journey to get to Georgia however was not normal. He didn't start playing football until later in life, and if he wasn't for his mom pushing him (literally) then he might've never found himself on a football field in the first place. But Davis did start playing football, and his story reached the ultimate conclusion when he signed the largest contract in NFL history for a nose tackle earlier this week.

Jordan Davis' new contract extension ends his perfect football story
Georgia insider Graham Coffey shared a story about Davis on Wednesday. He reported that Davis didn't even want to play football when he was 15 years old, all he wanted to do was stay home, play video games and eat snacks. His mom however wanted something better for him, so she forced him to play football as a way to get out of the house and take advantage of the free food they offered.
That clearly was the best dicision for him then and today. Now Davis has signed his first contract extension in the NFL that is worth $78 million.
On Wednesday Davis held his first press conference since signing this extension and it was clear that he was extremely emotional. This appeared to be the moment when he finally realized he made it, and all the sacrifices his mom made growing up were with it.
A lot of NFL players will sign huge extensions this offseason, but arguably none have more meaning than Davis' new contract. He not only is the highest paid nose tackle in NFL history now, but he has ultimately completed his story that is as unique and as special as anyone else.
