Georgia football’s recent recruiting run has been nothing short of extraordinary. However, UGA hasn’t seen as much success in the form of commitments since the calendar flipped to July as Georgia has earned just one commitment so far this month.

That however could change in a hurry as Saturday, July 12 projects to be a massive day for the Bulldogs on the recruiting trail.

Georgia eyeing two commitments on July 12

Any day that results in one commitment for Georgia is a really good day. But UGA has a chance to earn two commitments on July 12.

The first decision of the day will come from four-star safety Tyriq Green, who is the No. 151 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Green will announce his commitment on July 12 at 4:00 pm EST and has Georgia, Miami (FL) and Auburn as his three finalists.

Georgia is predicted to win this recruitment, but UGA fans won’t have much time to celebrate a potential victory because five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro is set to announce his final decision 30 minutes later at 4:30 pm EST.

Prothro will be deciding between Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Texas, and similarly to Green he is expected to choose the Bulldogs as well.

There is always a chance one or both of these recruitment don’t go Georgia’s way, but as it stands right now UGA is expected to earn a commitment from both players. And earning commitments from two elite players will make Saturday the best day Georgia has seen on the recruiting trail this summer.

These two commitments won’t be good enough to surpass USC for the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, but it will bring Georgia right on their tail. Regardless, the future of Georgia will look much brighter on Saturday if both players do end up committing to UGA.
