Georgia football released a very exciting video on their social media pages on Wednesday afternoon. This video is titled "The Reel" and is a nearly four minute long highlight reel of the the Bulldogs' 2024 season. The below video doesn't tell the story of any one game specifically, but it shows many highlights from the season as well as some behind the scenes looks in the locker room as well.
However, after watching the entire video, something immediately felt wrong. Something stood out that forced me to watch the video again and look more closely. And after watching the video a second time, it dawned on me that a key player was excluded from this video.
Carson Beck is nowhere to be found
That's right, Georgia's starting QB Carson Beck was nowhere to be seen in this video. As mentioned, the video is nearly four minutes long, so surely the quarterback who was the starter for 12.5 games was featured at least once right? Not in this video.
To take it to the next level, Georgia's backup QB Gunner Stockton was featured in the video three times, which is a lot for someone who only played in 1.5 games. And there were definitely some plays shown that Beck was 100 percent involved in, but the editing clearly cut out the part that would have shown Beck.
Sure there are a lot of players who were excluded from the video, but the starting quarterback doesn't just get left out on accident. The only explanation is that Beck was excluded on purpose. And after watching Beck transfer to Miami (FL), it's hard to argue against that decision.
Who knows if this was Kirby Smart's idea, but it's more than likely that he had nothing to do with it. However, it is hilarious to think about Smart going out of his way to tell Georgia's social media team to keep Beck out of the video at all costs.
So if you didn't think Georgia was ready to move on from Beck, this video tells you that Georgia most certainly already has.
