Georgia football may have one more game left in their regular season, but it's impossible to not look ahead to the future and Georgia's upcoming SEC Championship game.

It is still unknown who UGA will play in Atlanta, but we do know that they will play the winner of the Texas vs. Texas A&M game this weekend. So it goes without saying that Georgia and their fans will be watching this game very closely.

Will the Bulldogs have a rematch against the Longhorns or will they get to face A&M for the first time this season? That remains to be seen. But one key injury is having a major impact on this game and who Georgia will play in the SEC Championship game.

Texas QB Quinn Ewers status is unknown

Texas starting QB Quinn Ewers suffered an ankle injury during the Longhorns win over Kentucky this past weekend. And at this time it is still unknown if he will be able to play against Texas A&M this weekend or not.

This game is already projected to be a very close game, with the Longhorns currently favored by 5.5 points. But if Ewers is out, and the fact that this game is at Texas A&M, then this spread will likely shrink in a hurry.

It goes without saying that the Longhorns' chances of winning this game drop significantly without Ewers, even with freshman QB Arch Manning stepping in. And a Texas loss could be a good thing for Georgia.

The only loss for Texas this season was against Kirby Smart and Georgia, which may initially look like a good thing for UGA. But it is extremely difficult to beat the same team twice in one season. On top of that, Texas A&M just suffered their third loss of the season to Auburn, so on paper they are not as strong as the Longhorns.

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter who Georgia plays in the SEC Championship game. They have a great chance at beating either team and would likely be favored against both as well. But the easier opponent on paper would be the Aggies, so a Texas loss would be a welcomed site to see. And if Ewers is out for Saturday's game, the chances of that happening will increase.
