Kirby Smart has landed another big dog for his Bulldogs in the 2027 class.

Four-star offensive tackle Miller Westerfield, listed at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, gives Georgia its 18th commitment in the 2027 class. Westerfield took his official visit to Athens on June 12 and the Bulldogs held off LSU and Tennessee to land the in-state prospect and vault the class back into the top-15 of the national rankings.

Westerfield comes out of the powerhouse Roswell High program and he has been climbing the rankings all offseason. The 247Sports Composite currently has him ranked as the 390th best prospect in the nation, 40th best offensive tackle and a top-50 player in Georgia (43rd).

The offer list for Westerfield is as impressive as you would expect. Outside of the thiree finalists, the blue-chip tackle also had South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, USC, Syracuse and a host of others on his offer list.

4-star OT Miller Westerfield is the latest addition to Georgia's 2027 recruiting class

Westerfield's official visit to Georgia was followed up by a trip to campus later in the next week for a prospect camp where he got a chance to put in additional work with offensive line coach Phil Rauscher. That extra time proved to be what put the Bulldogs in prime position to add another offensive tackle to the class. Westerfield joins fellow in-state recruits Kennedee Jackson (Lithonia) and Kelsey Adams (Fairburn) as Bulldog commits. Georgia also has a commitment from DJ Dotson out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

There's a lot to like about Westerfield and, at first glance, he fits the profile of what we've come to see from Georgia offensive tackles in the past. He's big on the frame, but carries a lot of good lean weight, and he's got a nice nasty streak to him. Definitely a recruit that fits the Kirby Smart mold of toughness.

Kirby Smart and Georgia aren't done in the 2027 class

Many of the top programs have all but closed out their 2027 recruiting class, choosing to get everything done before the summer dead period. But Smart and the Bulldogs staff are still on the hunt for more recruits to finish out the cycle. Westerfield's commitment puts Georgia's class at 13th overall.

One of the big prospects on the board is another in-state blue-chip recruit, four-star defensive back Ta'Shawn Poole. Georgia is a finalist for the top-100 national prospect from Macon. The Bulldogs join FSU and Tennessee with hats on the table for a July 17 announcement.
