Kirby Smart arrives in style to recruit five-star linebacker

Georgia football is putting a huge emphasis on recruiting this week as the Bulldogs are in the middle of their second bye week of the season. It seems like the entire staff is out visiting Georgia's top priority recruits, and that includes Kirby Smart.

Smart has been seen visiting a few recruits already this weekend, but the most recent player he was in to see grabbed the attention of the entire country. The visit itself was pretty standard, but it's the manner that Smart got to the field to watch this recruit that is a spectacle you have to see.

That's right, Smart flew in on a helicpoter to visit five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson this weekend. And if you watch the above video, the crowd went crazy once Smart got out off the helicopter.

Now let's talk about the recruit he was visiting.

Five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson

Atkinson is a five-star linebacker from Loganville, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 8 overall player in the country. Atkinson is also the No. 1 linebacker in the country and the top ranked player from Georgia.

Atkinson is a recruit in the 2026 class, so there is still a long way to go in his recruitment, but that hasn't stopped the top schools in the country from getting involved already. As of today, Atkinson already has 50 offers, inclduing Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Michigan, Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, Notre Dame and pretty much every other big name school you can think of. But there appears to be a few teams already leading the way in this recruitment.

According to 247Sports, Georgia, Clemson, Auburn and Tennessee are the four teams marked as "warm" in Atkinson's recruitment.

It's too early to know if Georgia is the leader in this recruitment or not, but Smart and Georgia appear to be putting themseleves in a great position early on. Let's hope it stays that way, beause this would be a massive addition for Georgia in the future.
