Kirby Smart once again is in a tight battle on the recruiting trail with Ohio State. These two Blue Blood programs go at it multiple times every recruiting cycle, but this time they are butting heads for four-star tight end Jordan Karhoff.
Both Georgia and Ohio State have officially made his top five, but the feeling is that the Buckeyes are the team to beat. Why is that? Because he is form Columbus, OH which is home to Ohio State's campus.

Kirby Smart attempts to steal 4-star Jordan Karhoff from Ohio State's backyard
Karhoff announced his top five schools on Friday which included Georgia, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Miami and Texas A&M. It is unclear what the pecking order is between these five schools, but it's hard to imagine a scenario that doesn't have the Buckeyes as his No. 1 school.
Karhoff is from the same town (Columbus) where Ohio State's campus is. That means he probably grew up a big Ohio State fan and always dreamed of suiting up in the scarlet and grey when he was older. So it could be too good of an opportunity to pass up now that he is older and actually has a chance to do that.
Smart however is going to do everything he can to take down the Buckeyes and steal a recruit from their backyard.
Karhoff is one of just a few recruitments where Georgia and Ohio State are at each other's throats, but this might be the most intriguing one of all. And with a new home-and-home series starting between these two teams soon, recruiting battles like this will set the tone for those future matchups.
Karhoff more than likely will take his recruitment into the summer and take official visits to all five of these schools. That will give Smart a chance to really flex his recruiting muscles and show Ohio State why they are no match for him and Georgia.
