Kirby Smart is known for being able to flip elite recruits from some of the best programs in the country. He has been able to do that time and time again throughout his time as Georgia's head coach, and he may be on the verge to doing that once again with four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife.

Fife had been committed to Tennessee since November, but earlier this week he announced that he was docommitting from the Vols. The below announcement doesn't mention Georgia at all, but the timeline of his recruitment indicates that UGA could be a big reason why he decommitted.

Georgia must feel good after Kadin Fife decommitted from Tennessee

Fife took three official visits this summer. One was to Tennessee who he was committed to at the time, but he also took a trip to Ole Miss and Georgia. The Bulldogs were the last school he visited in June, and just two weeks after that visit wrapped up he announced that he was decommitting from Tennessee.

Sure he didn't say anything about Georgia specifically in his announcement, but the timing of his decommittment is too convenient.

Is there a chance that Ole Miss was the school to change his mind and cause him to decommit from the Vols? Sure, but the most likely scenario is that Fife decommitted from Tennessee because of his visit to Georgia. That won't be confirmed until he commits to Georgia, and so far that has not happened. At this point however Georgia has to love where they stand with Fife right now.

Kirby Smart can do more than just beat Georgia's rivals on the field

No one can blame Fife if he does choose to ditch Tennessee for Georgia. The Vols are a slightly above average SEC program, but they do not compare to Georgia.

The Bulldogs have won three of the last four SEC Championships and haven't lost to Tennessee in what feels like forever. Georgia also is a program that is going to continue to compete for championships every single season while Tennessee can't even make it to the SEC Championship game. So why wouldn't he want to flip to Georgia?

Georgia has used their success over SEC programs to their advantage this offseason as they have flipped multiple recruits from other programs. The most notable was Kennedee Jackson who flipped from Florida to Georgia after being committed to the Gators for just 11 days.

Similarly to Tennessee, Florida is a program that can't beat Georgia or compete with the best programs in the SEC, so it's not surprising that he made that decision.

The hope now is that Fife will make it official and flip to Georgia soon. Until that time comes there is a chance he could go elsewhere, but this decommitment is still very fresh so Georgia has to feel confident about where they stand right now.
