Kirby Smart just taught new Florida head coach Jon Sumrall a quick course on what it takes to recruit in the SEC.
Elite offensive lineman Kennedee Jackson is one of the top recruits from the state of Georgia. That is what made it so frustrating when he committed to Florida on June 2. But that didn't stop him from taking an official visit to Georgia just a few days later, and it didn't stop him from flipping his commitment to Georgia on June 13 either.

Georgia flipped Kennedee Jackson from Florida after just 11 days
Flips happen all the time in college football recruiting. Georgia will flip a handful of recruits every year, but it doesn't get any better than stealing a recruit from a rival. That's what made flipping Jackson so great because Smart took him from a heated rival like Florida.
Stealing a recruit from Florida will always be a huge cause for celebration, but that is especially the case this time. Not only is Jackson a top 75 player in the country, but he was only committed to Florida for 11 days.
Yes, that's right, Jackson was committed to Florida for less than two weeks before he flipped to Georgia. Recruiting wins really don't get more dominant than that, and for Florida it doesn't get more embarrassing than that. But that is what Smart does best and what Sumrall is going to have to get used to while he is the head coach at Florida.
Florida's NIL package wasn't good enough to keep Kennedee Jackson from flipping to Georgia
Florida deserved a lot of initial credit for getting Jackson's commitment. They were able to convince him to commit even with a visit to Georgia the following week which is his home state school, and that is not an easy thing to do.
Florida however tried to take it one step further by trying to prevent him from taking that visit. Sumrall reportedly tried to pay Jackson to not take this visit to Georgia, but Jackson turned them down because he knew he had to see what Georgia had to offer.
It's a good thing he turned Florida's offer down because he probably never would've committed to Georgia if he canceled that visit.
So not only did Jackson flip to Georgia after being committed to Florida for 11 days, but he made Florida look bad because of their offer to pay him to cancel his visit to Athens. This is a loss that will stick with Florida and Sumrall for a very long time and one that Georgia fans should never let any Gator fan forget.
Florida fans are used to losing to Georgia, but this is a new feeling for Sumrall. But this is a feeling he more than likely will experience many more times while he is Florida's head coach because the Gators haven't found any amount of success since Smart became head coach at UGA.
This flip is just the latest example, but in a few months Sumrall more than likely will suffer his first loss to Georgia on the field too.
