Georgia took down Florida on Saturday without breaking a sweat 27-8. This marked the sixth win in a row against the Gators, but it came with a potential problem going forward.

The biggest potential issue coming out of this game is the injury to Ellis Robinson who hurt his knee during the first half. He did not return during the second half, but Kirby Smart's update after the game made it seem like he was kept out of the game just to be safe and nothing serious happened.

"His knee tightened up on him," Smart said via 247Sports.com. “I don't know if it happened on the interception, because I saw a replay of the interception. I thought he got hit right on the knee. But we don't really know. Don't think there was anything structurally wrong. It just tightened up on him. It looked like a Charlie Horse or a bruise, but honestly, I don't know."

Georgia football DB Ellis Robinson injury update could be good news for UGA

Georgia had a 24-0 halftime lead. They did not need Robinson in the second half risking further injury in order to win this game, so even if he wasn't that injured the smart move was to keep him out of the game.

Georgia however needs Robinson in the lineup going forward. They still have two big games this season which includes their road game at Ole Miss next week, and if they want a good chance to slow down Rebels' quarterback Trinidad Chambliss they need him to play. Thankfully it sounds like initial tests show nothing serious occurred, but until practice starts up this coming week they probably won't know for sure if he is able to go or not.

At this point it's impossible to predict if he will play or not against the Rebels, but Smart's update does provide some hope that he will be good to go by the time they play Ole Miss next week.

Georgia's next matchup vs Ole Miss could define their season

The Ole Miss game next week is the biggest game left on Georgia's schedule by far. Georgia does play a good Missouri team the following week and a sneaky South Carolina team in two weeks, but those should be two relatively easy wins. There will be nothing easy about beating Ole Miss.

If Georgia can get past the Rebels though then the rest of the season should be smooth sailing. Anything is possible in the SEC which was proven when Georgia lost to Auburn two weeks ago, but if UGA beats Ole Miss they should be able to stroll into the SEC Championship game while also locking up one of the top seeds in the College Football Playoff.

Beating Ole Miss is easier said than done. Not only did they lose to them last year in the playoff but they also lost to the Rebels the last time they played them on the road in 2024. Georgia does look like the better team and will probably be favored, but Ole Miss has had their number the last couple years and they could very easily win again this year.
