The Georgia Bulldogs handled their first SEC matchup on the season as they dismantled the Arkansas Razorbacks by a score of 45-17. However, the Bulldogs still had two scares early in the game.
In the first quarter wide receiver Isiah Canion left the game with an apparent lower leg injury and did not return. Not long after that starting running back Nate Frazier suffered a right knee injury and was taken to the locker room.
Both of those injuries are good reasons to panic, but Kirby Smart came to the rescue and was able to shed some much needed light on the injuries after the game.
Frazier, Canion were only "dinged" in Arkansas matchup
According to several sources after the game, when Kirby Smart was asked about the two injuries he stated that the players were only dinged up and could have played again if needed to. This could have also been seen as the two players came back to the sideline and watched later in the game.

The biggest scare was not about whether they could play in the Arkansas game but when Georgia plays Oklahoma at home next week who has one of the top defenses in the country. For Georgia to be successful against the Sooners they will have to be able to continue to enforce the ground game, and that is what Frazier brings to the offense. While Georgia still has yet to really find one go-to wider receiver, it is best for the Bulldogs to have as many weapons as possible at their disposal.
In Frazier's abscence Chauncey Bowens took over the ground game for Georgia as well as quarterback Gunner Stockton. Bowens had a hat trick with three touchdowns on the ground while Stockton led the team with 97 rushing yards (career high). Stockton's 97 yards also included an electric 62-yard rush that set up Bowens for his second touchdown of the game.
Meanwhile, true freshman Craig Dandridge as well as Sacovie White-Helton stepped up for Canion. Dandridge led the team in receiving yards, mainly in part to his 61-yard touchdown strike in the fourth quarter. White-Helton had the most catches on the day with four.
The tight ends also did a great job stepping up as the Bulldogs were able to see more Lawson Luckie as he had 59 yards and a touchdown late in the game.
Georgia's outlook for the Oklahoma matchup just got more promising. Not only do their two injured stars look good to go, but the Bulldogs were able to prove that they have solid backups behind them. Georgia has scored more points through their first three games than they have in over a century, and they will continue to look to add to that total against the Sooners next week.
