Georgia and Alabama normally find themselves battling to the end on the football field, but now they are taking the battle to the recruiting trail. With both programs being some of the top and more elite football programs, the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide find themselves constantly competing for recruits, just like they are now for 4-star EDGE Khamari Brooks.

Brooks, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound EDGE out of Bogart, Georgia, is down to Alabama and Georgia for his commitment, and his announcement is going to come next week on June 23. Brooks is ranked as the No. 112 player nationally, the No. 14 EDGE in the Class of 2026, and the No. 13 player in the state of Georgia according to 247Sports.

The Georgia native took official visits to both Alabama and Georgia, as well as USC, but it seems the Trojans are out of this race. Brooks visited Georgia on May 30 and Alabama a week later on June 6, and is set for his official visit with USC this weekend.

Georgia battles Alabama for 4-star EDGE Khamari Brooks

Brooks is not the first recruit that Georgia has been battling Alabama for this summer. The Bulldogs battled the Crimson Tide for Justice Fitzpatrick, brother of Minkah Fitzpatrick, who played for Alabama before becoming a starting defensive back in the NFL.

However, Alabama won a different battle for Jordan Edmonds, a 5-star wide receiver that Georgia tried to flip, but ultimately couldn't. While there have been many other battles, this is the one in the spotlight right now for Brooks.

Georgia has had quite a few solid weeks on the recruiting trail in the month of June, and receiving a commitment from Brooks would be big. The Bulldogs have yet to have an EDGE commit in the Class of 2026, so Brooks would be the first if he chooses Georgia over Alabama.
