Georgia football has been targeting many players that are committed to other programs. In fact, one of Georgia's most recent commitments came from a player that was currently committed to another SEC team.
Convincing a player to flip from another program to Georgia is one of the most difficult things to do in recruiting, and UGA will have many recruits turn them down when they attempt to do so. Unfortunately that is exactly what happened with the No. 1 corner in the country on Tuesday who is currently committed to Alabama.
Alabama commit Jorden Edmonds received a major push from UGA for an official visit this weekend.

Jorden Edmonds spurns Georgia, sticking with the Tide
One of the flip targets Georgia has recently been aggressively pursuing is five-star corner Jorden Edmonds. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Edmonds is the No. 24 overall player in the country and the top ranked corner in the 2026 recruiting class. He also is the No. 2 player from Georgia, so Edmonds is someone many UGA fans felt Georgia had a realistic chance at flipping from Alabama.
Those hopes however came to a crashing end as Edmonds announced that he will not be taking an official visit to Georgia this weekend and will officially end his reruitment.
It's hard to ever claim a failed flip is a big recruiting loss because of how difficult it is to pull off. But the fact that Edmonds is the No. 2 player from Georgia makes this a tough loss to overcome.
Thankfully the Bulldogs already have four defensive backs ranked inside the top 150 already committed to their 2026 recruiting class, so the future of Georgia's secondary is very strong. But adding a player like Edmonds would have made Georgia's haul in the secondary second to none.
It will be interesting to see where Georgia turns to now in the secondary, but they can be very selective going forward because of the five commits already in their class. So look for UGA to find another player extremely talented like Edmonds to target next.
