The awesome recruiting news keeps on coming in for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. This time, the Dawgs have pulled a fast one on an SEC foe, with UGA flipping a 4-star cornerback commit from Vanderbilt. Yup, a lot of people in Tennessee are not happy.
After he took an official visit to Athens last week, a lot of people assumed that defensive back Caden Harris would back off his pledge to the Commodores and give Smart the news he was hoping for. That went down on Saturday morning, with Harris committing to Georgia:

That's what we're talking about. This is a big-time get for Smart and it's one that Georgia fans are pretty fired up about. Previously, the 6-0, 160-pounder committed to Vanderbilt in late April and with him being a Brownsville, Tenn. product, it was a huge in-state pledge for Vandy.
However, UGA and Smart never stopped recruiting him and they made Harris feel like a priority of late. Getting him on campus for his official visit was key, as the UGA staff was able to turn his head quite a bit while he was on campus to see everything in person.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Harris is ranked four stars, the No. 11 CB in the country, No. 3 player from Tennessee and No. 85 prospect nationally for the 2026 class. Throughout his recruitment, he picked up tenders from Georgia, Vanderbilt, Alabama and many others - he had 40 offers to his name this cycle.
As for Georgia as a whole, the Bulldogs indeed are up to 16 total commits for the class, which is currently ranked No. 4 by 247Sports. Smart has been on a complete and total tear out on the recruiting trail. More verbals should be on the way soon for him too.
