One of Georgia top commits throughout the summer was four-star wide receiver Brady Marchese. He originally committed to Georgia back in March, but he made the shocking decision to flip to Michigan on signing day at the beginning of December.
Fast forward a couple weeks and Michigan's program has gone through a lot of turmoil. Former head coach Sherrone Moore was fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a staff member and it took them much longer than they hoped to hire their next head coach. The Wolverines however have landed on former Utah coach Kyle Whittingham to replace Moore.
The most likely time for a player or recruit to leave a program is when there is a coaching change, and Marchese made the decision to ditch Michigan within hours of Whittingham being named Michigan's next head coach.

Former 4-star Georgia commit is back on the market
Kirby Smart and Georgia now have a very difficult decision to make. They obviosuly really wanted Marchese in their recruiting class since he was committed to UGA for nearly nine months, but then he turned his back on Georgia on signing day. This left Georgia with a glaring hole in their recruiting class, one that has not been filled yet.
Since Marchese and Georgia already have a prior relationship it makes sense for them to reunite. But does Smart and Georgia actually want that? Marchese already showed that he isn't 100 percent loyal to Georgia, so how can they trust him to be loyal to them now?
Marchese is one of the best wide receivers in the 2026 recruiting class. He also would fit in perfectly at Georgia and could have a very good career. But Smart may decide that it isn't worth bringing him back since he already ditched the program once.
