Earlier this week word came out that Gunner Stockton suffered a knee injury. Kirby Smart himself said that it wasn't very serious, but they did limit him at practice as he recovers from his injury.

It's unclear beyond that how injured Stockton actually is, but fans are anxious to receive another update so they know how he is progressing in his recovery. The good news is that Smart gave Stockton a chance to show how far he's come as the Bulldogs will have their first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday.

Georgia's first scrimmage gives Gunner Stockton a chance to show how he has recovered from his injury scare

Georgia's first scrimmage this spring will give Stockton an opportunity to show how much he has healed since his injury. Scrimmages are the closest thing to a game, so this will be a great indicator as to where he is at right now.

The only problem is that Smart may not let him play that much to avoid further injuring himself. Defenders aren't allowed to tackle quarterbacks during scrimmages, but even if that's the case it still might be wise to let Stockton sit most of the day and continue healing up.

There unfortunately will not be a way for fans to watch this scrimmage on Saturday. However, there will be plenty of updates shared by the team and insiders who are allowed in to watch the scrimmage unfold. There will be plenty of things for these people to watch and write about, but Stockton's recovery will be at the top of everyone's mind.

Stockton's injury will give the rest of Georgia's quarterbacks a chance to see more reps during this scrimmage than they normally would have. This will really help their development as each player looks to sure up their spot on the depth chart behind Stockton and prepare for their careers after this season.

But the most important thing during this scrimmage will be to see if Stockton plays and how his knee and mobility look.
