Earlier this week Georgia lost their commitment from wide receiver Aden Starling. He was only a three-star recruit, but losing the commitment from any player is never ideal.

But this gave Kirby Smart an opportunity to go out and find another player that might be even better than him, and according to Rivals they have done just that.

So look out Penn State, Smart is after Jamie Dean.

Losing Aden Starling has led Kirby Smart to target Penn State commit Jamir Dean

Dean has been committed to Penn State for only a few days. He made his decision to commit to the Nittany Lions on May 1, so he has only been committed for one week. Most recruits don't even think about leaving their school that quickly, but Dean apparently is.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings Dean is the No. 435 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 55 wide receiver in the 2027 class and the No. 18 player from his home state of Tennessee.

No other school is making progress with Dean right now. On his 247Sports profile Georgia is the only other school with a label next to their name that isn't "None." That label indicates that a school has no chance to win a recruitment, but Georgia's label "Cool" shows that they are quickly making some progress.

It will be interesting to see if Smart is able to flip Dean from Penn State. After Penn State's horrific season last year that ended in them firing their head coach they no longer are a difficult school to recruit against. Just look at the fact that five-star Kemon Spell flipped his commitment from Penn State to Georgia a few months ago.

Smart will look to do the same with Dean now, and with his track record it won't be surprising if he brings this recruitment home.
