Aden Starling is a three-star wide receiver from Texas who had been committed to Georgia since last December. Everything seemed fine in his recruitment since that commitment, but over the last week rumors began to spread that he may be having second thoughts about Georgia.

Fast forward to Thursday and Starling officially decided to decommit from Georgia and reopen his recruitment.

3-star Aden Starling decommits from Georgia football program

As mentioned, Starling gave Georgia no indication that they ever had to worry about his commitment since he originally committed at the end of last year. That however changed last week thanks to one report from On3.

This report didn't say anything too specific, but it did hint at Georgia potentially losing some ground with Starling. It turns out that they lost more than just a little ground as he is the latest recruit to decide to decommit from Georgia.

The good news about this is that Starling isn't ranked that high in the 247Sports composite rankings. According to these rankings he is the No. 814 overall player in the country and the No. 101 ranked wide receiver in his class. Kirby Smart surely will be able to find a player ranked higher that will actually want to come to Georgia, but losing any commit is never a good thing even if they are ranked low.

Staling isn't the only recruit to turn their back on Georgia recently as defensive back Jerry Outhouse decommitted from Georgia last week. He then made the shocking decision to flip to UCLA which absolutely no one saw coming, but at this point it isn't clear where Starling could be headed next.

Georgia has plenty of time to find a replacement for Starling who will certainly be ranked higher, but any day that includes a decommitment is not a good day for the program.
