Kirby Smart and Georgia football have their eyes set on another talented QB in the 2025 recruiting class.
The Bulldogs currently have the No. 3 recruiting class in the country, but Smart and his staff are looking to make a lot of additions still to try and finish No. 1 for the second year in a row. One prospect we know Georgia is aggressively after is five-star Justus Young, who is the No. 7 overall player in the country. But the Georgia staff have their eyes set on a brand new recruit who is a top QB in the recruiting class.
A couple days ago it was reported that four-star QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele picked up an offer from Georgia. It was then quickly reported that Sagapolutele has a lot of interest in Georgia, and that interest is apparently very mutual as he will be taking an official visit to Georgia during the Tennessee game on Nov. 16.
This development is shocking for a few reasons. The first being that we didn’t hear about Sagapolutele until earlier this week. So to Georgia fans, he is a brand new recruiting target.
Sure the staff likely has been in contact with Sagapolutele for much longer, but the fact that his recruitment is picking up this much steam this late in the cycle is surprising.
How will Ryan Montgomery feel?
But the thing that is most surprising is that Georgia already has a very talented QB committed to their 2025 class. Ryan Montgomery has been in the class since April, but it looks like one QB isn’t enough for Smart and his staff. That alone is surprising because you hardly ever see more than one QB in a single recruiting class, but that appears to be the goal for Georgia this year.
It’s unlikely that we’ll get many more updates on Sagapolutele‘a recruitment until after his visit next month. But the recruitment we should keep an eye on the most right now is Montgomery to see how he feels about Georgia going after another QB. Hopefully he doesn’t mind, because if he does then he could start looking elsewhere as well.
