Kirby Smart is allowing Glenn Schumann to ruin this Georgia program in record time

It does not matter that Glenn Schumann has been a such good soldier, he is so terrible at his job...

The first half of The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry between Auburn and Georgia was mostly about Glenn Schumann's defense having an impossible time getting off the field. While it did force a timely fumble at the goal line near halftime, Georgia rarely had any time to run any offensive plays. Once again, Tweedledee and Tweedledum got the best of the Dawgs. Mike Bobo and Schumann are awful!

For as much flack as Georgia's offensive coordinator gets just about every week, it has become so abundantly clear that Schumann cannot hack it as a defensive coordinator. He just stands there on the sidelines and waves his hands like a bumbling idiot. All the while, Georgia continues to get carved up like a Thanksgiving turkey when the other team has the ball. It is death by a thousand paper cuts.

With Georgia's playoff chances largely hanging in the balances now, UGA fans were livid over on X.

Georgia football fans have had more than enough of Glenn Schumann

There is no coincidence between Georgia's defense fading and Schumann getting a bigger role.

Schumann was one of six Georgia assistants to get a raise this offseason. He is making over $2 million a year to do what exactly?! Georgia is known for its defensive prowess under one great coordinator after another. He does not have to be the next Dan Lanning, but he has to be something worthy of coaching for a contender in the SEC. Schumann almost always gets off to a slow start now.

It is only after halftime when Kirby Smart makes all the adjustment and does Schumann's job for him.

Georgia fans cannot wait to run Glenn Schumann out of town once again

Let's be real. This is looking to be one of the worst officiated games in SEC football history. Auburn may have started to combust near halftime, but we cannot fully erase the latest first-half disaster out of Schumann. It is not about how many points Auburn scored, but how effortlessly the Tigers looked for the most part moving up and down the field in the first half. The game is about to be a total tire fire.

Overall, the score heading into halftime of 10-3 Auburn is so incredibly misleading. For all intents and purposes, Auburn should be up by three scores, but that was just not meant to be... Weird things happen under the bright lights of Jordan-Hare. The fact Georgia looked this awful for the most part in the first half and to only be down a touchdown is about as good as it can get. Can they figure it out?

Ultimately, Smart is going to have to coach his pants off because he cannot trust either of his two coordinators. Whether it is Bobo designing a play to get precisely zero yards on a crucial down, or for Schumann's defense to provide absolutely no pressure on a blitz, something has to give. Smart has to understand this is no longer good enough. His coordinators are going to cost Georgia a playoff berth.

Auburn is playing with more desperation, but Georgia has to find something from within to win here.
