Georgia has been one of the best programs in the NIL era. During this short stretch they have won three SEC titles and two National Championships, and no other program during this time even compares to that.

It’s remarkable that Kirby Smart has been able to accomplish this though because of his stance on NIL. He is all for paying players, but he once again made it clear that he doesn’t want anyone to come to Georgia who only care about collecting a paycheck.

"If you're coming here for a paycheck, then you're coming to the wrong place,” Smart said via x.com.

Instead, he wants players at Georgia who are working for the next paycheck, an NFL check.

"We’re trying to motivate them to get the next check, the next level,” Smart continued.

Georgia is in the unique position where they don’t need to throw bags of money at recruits to convince them to come to Athens. If they care about winning then they’ll see that no one wins more than Georgia, so UGA will be an attractive place for them.

If they care about making it to the NFL then Georgia has them covered as well. The Bulldogs are one of the schools who send the most players to the NFL, so Smart can sell recruits on helping them get paid at the next level instead of chasing a bag in college.

Georgia has the talent to continue sending double digit players to the NFL every year, but they do need to win a national title soon to continue being viewed as the winningest program in the country. Thankfully that is the one thing Smart cares about most right now, so don’t be surprised if they climb the mountaintop this year.
