As Georgia football turns the page from Mississippi State to Texas there is still one thing that Kirby Smart needs to address from the game this past weekend.

I'm sure you have all seen this video a million times by now, but Smart was caught shoving Mississippi State QB Michael Van Buren during the Bulldogs' 41-31 win on Saturday.

As you probably guessed, everyone went crazy on social media without paying attention to all the details. But before I give you my opinion, let's see what Smart had to say to the media on Monday about the viral incident.

"I went back and watched it, and didn’t even realize that I had run into him,” Smart shared. “But I reached out to (Mississippi State head coach Jeff) Lebby that night and talked to him, and he said the kid was great. And then yesterday, I talked to Mike and told him I had no intentions or ill will towards him at all. It was, if you’ve ever been on the sideline in a game, it’s pandemonium.”

So there you have it, every party involved is viewing this incident as a non-issue. Smart spoke with Mississippi Stte head coach Jeff Lebby as well as the Bulldogs' QB and it appears everyone is ready to move on.

But if we've learned anything about social media it's that they are slow to move on from incidents like this. So I would not be surprised to see opposing SEC fanbases continue to talk about this moment and demand punishment. But unfortunately for them it looks like no pinishment will be handed out.

Smart will definitely need to learn from this moment because if this were to happen again he would likely be punished. And at that point even I wouldn't defend him. But for now it's time to move on from this moment and the Mississippi State games altogether and turn our collective attention to Texas.
