Kirby Smart just keeps kicking Florida while they're down

Kirby Smart owns Florida, and he doesn't want to see that change anytime soon.

Florida is one of the most successful programs in the history of the SEC. The average college football fan likely would want to see the Gators get back to their winning ways because it theoretically would make watching the SEC much more enjoyable.

Kirby Smart however is no average football fan. He not only coaches at Georgia who is a big rival of Florida, but he also played at UGA for four years as well. So the last team he wants to see do well in the SEC is Florida, and he made sure to make that known when he was asked about how much an improved Florida would help the perception of the SEC.

Kirby Smart is happy to see Florida struggle

Florida has fallen on very hard times this season. The Gators are a miserable 3-4 and because of that they fired head coach Billy Napier two weeks ago. So no matter what happens the rest of this year, this season will be viewed as a failure.

Smart apparently is enjoying that fact by rubbing it in Florida's face that he thinks the SEC is just fine as a conference even when the Gtaros are bad.

Georgia has completely dominated Florida during Smart's tenure as head coach. The Bulldogs are 7-2 against Florida under Smart which includes winning the last four meetings. So Smart has earned every right to kick Florida while they are down, because he is one of the biggest reasons why their program has fallen back so much.

Florida however has a chance to do something remarkable this weekend. Georgia may be favored by 7.5 points, but a win for Florida would help them have some positive feelings about this year. Sure their season would still be over if they do beat Georgia, but being able to ruin UGA's season would still feel good.

But all signs point to Georgia getting another win in this rivalry, and Smart would be the last person to apologize for kicking Florida while they are down.
