One thing Georgia fans can always be confident in is a very good football team. Ever since Kirby Smart became head coach that is one thing fans have never had to worry about. The same thing however cannot be said for Georgia's basketball team.

Georgia however has been a lot better over the last few years on the hardwood, and on Sunday they learned that they made the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. That is already impressive enough, but combining that with the success Smart and the football team have had puts Georgia's last two years into perspective.

Kirby Smart and Mike White team up for historic run of success

Out of all the schools in the country, Georgia is the only one that can say they've made the College Football Playoff and NCAA Tournament each of the last two years. At this point it is expected for Georgia to make the CFP every season now that it expanded to 12 teams, but the same can't be said for their basketball team.

But there are a few other football teams that epect to make the CFP every year just like Georgia. Programs like Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan and Texas have that goal every season, but some of them weren't able to make it the last two years. Then those who did were unable to make the NCAA Tournament the last two years.

Georgia however did what no school was able to do, and that is a cause for celebration.

The only problem though is that Georgia is 0-3 in these postseason appearances. Smart and the football team lost their opening round game each of the last two years, and the basketball team got blown out by Gonzaga in the tournament last year. Thankfully Georgia is predicted to beat Saint Louis this season by 2.5 points.

Regardless this is a really cool stat that shows just how dominant Georgia's athletic department is. The Bulldogs are very good in many other sports as well, but to find this much success in the biggest sports college has to offer is remarkable.
