Georgia football is in the middle of another strong season as the Bulldogs are 9-1 and the No. 4 team in the country with two games to play. Kirby Smart has his team well on their way to yet another College Football Playoff appearance while also still having a good chance to make the SEC Championship game as well. So all in all, things couldn't be going much better in Athens right now.

The same however can't be said for another Georgia football team as the Atlanta Falcons are a miserable 3-7 this season. Head coach Raheem Morris is 11-16 in his tenure as the Falcons head coach, so it could just be a matter of time until he is fired. And if he is, 680 The Fan radio host Chris Dimino believes Smart should be the Falcons top candidate to become their next head coach.

“I’d make Kirby Smart, if I’m the Falcons, say no to me three times. I really would.” Dimino said via ugafootballlive.com.

Kirby Smart named candidate to become Atlanta Falcons head coach

Smart has never really shown much interest in the NFL, but there is always a chance that could change. But the chances of that happening feel extremely slim.

Smart has a really good thing going at Georgia. They are one of the top teams in the country every season and are recruiting at a high enough level where that won't stop anytime soon. He also is the highest paid coach in college football as well, so jumping ship to the NFL wouldn't even result in a big payday for him.

But if he ever decided to leave for the NFL, the Falcons would probably be the last team on his list. Georgia fans would not be happy seeing him leave UGA, so the last thing Smart should do is go to the NFL team that most Georgia fans cheer for. If things did go south for him with the Falcons, Georgia fans would be quick to turn on him because of their frustrations with him for leaving Athens.

At the end of the day it is extremely unlikely that Smart will leave Georgia anytime soon. But the Falcons would be wise to at least try and get him because that is how good of a coach he is.
