There are a lot of players who deserve to be celebrated after Georgia's 35-14 win over Kentucky. But one player in particular is flying under the radar but deserves some praise of his own.
That player is offensive lineman Bo Hughley who came in as a reserve lineman and played multiple positions thanks to the laundry list of injuries suffered by Georgia's offensive line. Hughley saw time at left and right tackle on Saturday, and he helped Georgia's line not skip a beat while all of their teammates were dealing with injuries.
Kirby Smart was asked about Hughley's performance on Saturday, and he named him the "poster child" for Georgia's program right now.
"He's just a competitor, man. That guy loves football," Smart shared via 247sports.com. "He should be the poster child for fire, passion, and energy. He never stops cheering. He's in the halftime geeking people up. He loves football, he plays hard. He loves Georgia. I mean, he struggles to keep his weight up sometimes, but you love the way the guy plays, and I appreciate his competitive toughness."
Bo Hughley named the "poster child" of Georgia football
Georgia's mantra this season is fire, passion and energy. That is how Smart wants his team to play, practice and prepare all season long. And apprantly Hughley is the perfect representation of having this fire, passion and energy that Smart is looking for.
Hughley is going to need to continue to play at a high level if Georgia is going to be successful this season. He likely will continue having his number called because of the injuries Georgia's offensive line is suffering, but if anyone deserves to have the complete trust of the fanbase it is Hughley who showed on Saturday that he is one of the most versatile players on UGA's roster.
